Bio

Coach Tuten began her career as a HPE teacher at Groves High School in 2001 and remained there, coaching volleyball and basketball and upholding the role of HPE Department Head, through 2005. Prior to beginning her teaching career, she coached JV basketball at WFHS which is when her decision to become a teacher and coach came to fruition. In 2005, after Tuten had her second son, she made the decision to stay home for several years to invest in her children which also grew by one more (this time a daughter) during that time. Once Coach Tuten returned to teaching, she immediately began coaching volleyball and basketball at Hesse K-8, but this time adding soccer and recreation softball to the list. With 16 years of various coaching experiences and success, Tuten now serves as The STEM Academy's Athletic Director and Head girl's Basketball Coach. She strives to add more unique experiences to make STEM Athletics a top notch program full of integrity, competitive excellence and strong mental and physical skill development for our student athletes.
